This sencha called zairai which can be translated by "native" is issued from seeds of tea plants and not from cuttings, each tea plant is therefore unique and not cloned. This sencha Zairai comes from Azuma Tea Farm, which belongs to Mr. Kanai and which is located near Kyoto in Wazuka in one of the cradles of tea in Japan. The family has been producing tea since 1868 with an environmentally friendly cultivation method. The sencha zairai compared to a sencha of monovarietal cultivar has an aromatic profile more woody with tannins a little more present.
