These tin tea tins are covered with washi, literally Japanese paper, by hand in France.
The washi is linked to the daily life of the Japanese. Resistant, with a soft and warm touch, it is decorated with various traditional patterns inspired by those found on kimonos, or more contemporary. Unadorned, it can be used as a window for the sliding walls of houses, the shôji.
This box represents a small protective mermaid, the amabie in Japanese folklore. It reminds me of a little angel!

The weight is given as an indication because, according to the density of teas and herbal teas, it can be variable. 100g of voluminous teas such as white teas will fit in the 200g tin, and conversely 200g of dense teas such as some green teas from Japan will fit in the 100g tin.
