It completes the mini teapot allowing to homogenize the tea liquor and to serve the tea in the bowls. It is called chahai in the gong fu cha ritual, and can be used as yuzamashi in the Japanese sencha dô.
You can use it to prepare pu er teas, but also white teas, wulong teas or green teas.
Manon Clouzeau has elaborated this ceramic by being inspired by the theme of gaiwan and especially by this way of preparing and tasting tea with gong fu cha.
