Spatule Chashaku

The chashaku, from cha the tea and shaku the spoon, is a spatula which is part of the utensils used during the Japanese tea ceremony, the cha no yu or sadô, allowing to dose and take easily the matcha powder from its presentation box, the natsume. It is usually made of bamboo, but can also be made of other woods such as cherry. The way to make it has not changed since the 15th century.
