Fouet Chasen

The chasen is the bamboo whisk used during the Japanese tea ceremony, the cha no yu or sadô, to emulsify the matcha powder previously placed in the bowl, the chawan, and on which we pour hot water (or also cold water in summer). The objective of the emulsion is to obtain a nice layer of fine regular bubbles on the surface, which are very pleasant to drink.

Carved from bamboo thatch, it is a traditional Japanese craft.
